When the arch inside the foot is flat, we commonly call this flat feet. This painless disorder is common and is known to happen at birth or after pregnancy. Typically, flat feet do not cause problems but may in some cases cause the foot to rotate inwards. Hammertoes are a deformity of the lesser toes in which the knuckle becomes permanently bent. The knuckle may be flexible and correctable or stiff and rigid. Metatarsalgia is a term used to describe generalized pain in the forefoot usually on the bottom or ball of the foot. Pain in this area is usually around the base of the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th toes. It is usually caused by a collapse of the transverse arch that runs across the ball of the foot. Looking for Morton’s Neuroma treatment?

Morton’s Neuroma is caused by an enlargement or entrapment of a nerve bundle at the base of the toes. Pain can usually be created by squeezing the forefoot or the space between the 3rd and 4th toes. Overpronation is the most common biomechanical foot problem. Normal pronation or tuning inward of the foot is necessary as the foot adapts to the ground, absorbing the shock from impact and transferring the bodies weight through the walking cycle.
In overpronation, the arch in a sense flattens or collapses and soft tissue stretches beyond their limits. With overpronation, joint surfaces must function at unnatural angles and become loose and flexible rather than stable. Read more ….

Plantar fasciitis is known to cause extreme pain and can be a chronic health condition, commonly connected with the degeneration, swelling or inflammation of the plantar fascia, located in the underside of the heel. Post Tibial Tendonitis is a strain of the posterior tendon which runs along the inside of the ankle of foot. Pain and swelling at the inside of the ankle or at the arch can occur. A bursa is a small fluid filled sac that protects a tendon or muscle where it slides over a bone. In this case it is between the Achilles tendon and the heel bone. Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome can produce pain similar to Plantar Fasciitis. It is caused by an entrapment of the tibial nerve that runs through a groove on the inside of the ankle. It causes pain with burning and tingling on the sole of the foot. Usually pain increases as the day goes on and resolves with rest. Read more …
