Flat Foot Problems Relieved with Support from Elio’s

When the arch inside the foot is flat, we commonly call this flat feet. This painless disorder is common and is known to happen at birth or after pregnancy. Typically, flat feet do not cause problems but may in some cases cause the foot to rotate inwards. Hammertoes are a deformity of the lesser toes in which the knuckle becomes permanently bent. The knuckle may be flexible and correctable or stiff and rigid. Metatarsalgia is a term used to describe generalized pain in the forefoot usually on the bottom or ball of the foot. Pain in this area is usually around the base of the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th toes. It is usually caused by a collapse of the transverse arch that runs across the ball of the foot. Overpronation is the most common biomechanical foot problem. Normal pronation or tuning inward of the foot is necessary as the foot adapts to the ground, absorbing the shock from impact and transferring the bodies weight through the walking cycle.

Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome can produce pain similar to Plantar Fasciitis. It is caused by an entrapment of the tibial nerve that runs through a groove on the inside of the ankle.
